ABOUT

There's really something to be said about the challenges of exploring, understanding and harnessing our very active internal lives in the attempt to align these parts of ourselves to our day to day. I'm endeared to the process and feel that in order to heal we have to work with others, be it community, loved ones, or Psychologist, to gather the best parts of ourselves and turn the incredibly muddled ways to experience the outside world into things elegant and gentle. The therapeutic process as a living and breathing construction. To build and strengthen the scaffolding in order to find authenticity, uniqueness and courage.

Having trained in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago, I have had the fortunate opportunity to develop with leaders in the field and value the continued process of developing and empowering the therapeutic space. For the past three years, I have trained young therapists, implementing various interventions and have developed programs centered around building one's self-esteem, identity and voice to maximize one's connections and resources.

My experience with parts theories applies well to those struggling with anxiety, self-esteem, depression, and relational issues. I strongly value diversity in an individual and the challenges that come with exploring and finding empowerment through the idiosyncratic ways each of us think, feel, act, and react to the world around us. I believe that with hard work, huge and quantifiable gains are possible on all facets of our lives.

On a personal level, I believe in cultivating one's creative and connected self with an emphasis on strength building and not allowing ourselves to define who we are in simplistic ways. I feel it essential to allow the complexity to surface with all those with whom I work and seek to bring out the most passionate and engaged pieces of an individual. I am an avid reader, writer, bicyclist, skateboarder, and traveler. I am an advocate for social justice and believe there is a constant need to listen, to stay humble and to seek points of focus and meaning. I value the power of connection from a dear friend or loved one as well as the passing connections of the many faces and people we often interact with daily in a city such as New York.
